Yeah, right!!

OK - This is from the stable of really fabulous science - not!! Astronomers can't find what they expect to find near black holes, namely old stars, so they put forward a new theory - that something is gobbling them up rather than face the possibility that their ideas are wrong. It's like Ptolemy's epicycles all over again.

What's eating the stars out of our galaxy's heart? - 15 September 2010 - New Scientist

Ptolemy's epicycles were added to his view of the cosmos as his observations did not fit his theory - namely that the earth is the centre of the universe. Lesson - if it don't work don't fudge it.

Yet it seems that history is repeating itself  as we are inventing concepts that we think must exist because they fit our beliefs not our observations

H-8 group video online

In 2008, a group of intrepid scientists and philosophers gathered at the Windsor Hotel at Lake Toya, Northern Japan to take part in a ground-breaking discussion, examining the current assumptions behind science and exploring what the assumptions behind a new global science would look like.

After much editing and transcribing sort of behaviour, the video is now available for you lucky people to view, courtesy of Professor Brian Josephson at the University of Cambridge.

Video is available below.
